I am comfortably retired from my profession but keep busy with a variety of activities. I enjoy hanging with friends, engaging in lively conversation and listening to different viewpoints on almost any topic. My interests include music -- choral, piano, arranging, writing lyrics, and, of course, listening. My musical tastes lean toward "classical" (renaissance thru modern) and pop tunes from 1920's thru present. I also enjoy reading (esp. history, biographies, mysteries), writing (short stories, essays, satire, humor, poetry), volunteer work, church activities, the outdoors, museums of any kind, quiet time at home, cooking, woodworking, word puzzles (esp. cryptic crosswords), board games (esp Scrabble), dabbling at writing software apps for PC, and listening to NPR and to conservative talk radio. Life is good, but it would be even better to share it with my soul mate.
